Rup Bala Memorial is only ANM College and top institute in Sitamarhi, Bihar. Our Auxiliary Nurses and Midwives (ANM) courses is to prepare a qualified General Nurse who will function as member of a Health Team beginning with consultancies for first level position in both Hospital and community Health Services especially in Rural areas. The school prepares the students to develop an aptitude for nursing and to provide the required knowledge and skills to give comprehensive nursing care to patients of all types of illness.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Minimum age is 17 years and maximum of 35 years as on 31st December of the year of admission.

  • Students must have successfully completed 10+2 or equivalent examination .

  • Must have good knowledge of English and Hindi and should be able to speak English fluently.

  • Admission is made once a year. Only female candidates who are physically and mentally fit to undergo training are eligible to apply.

On completion of the course, the ANM will be able to:

        1. Appreciate the concept of holistic health and understand the influence of socioeconomic and environmental factors on the health status of the community.
        2. Identify health problems/needs and resources in the community and mobilize social support for active participation of the community in health care activities.
        3. Provide preventive, promotive, restorative and emergency health care to individuals and community as required. Provide skilled care to all neonates in community and refer neonates at risk to the appropriate levels.
        4. Render skilled child care services at home, clinic and school.
        5. Guide/Train birth attendants, Anganwadi workers (AWW)s, other community health activists and volunteers.
        6. Provide need-based information and counselling related to health of individuals, family and groups.
        7. Participate in all the National health and Family welfare programmes at community level.
        8. Act as a team member in the health care delivery system.
        9. Coordinate and collaborate with the other health team members and community based organizations, non-govt. organizations (NGO) and village administration.
        10. Manage the health centre including equipments and supplies, and maintain the records in order to provide quality based people friendly services.
        11. Updates knowledge and skills for professional and personal growth.
